So I’m not a Foody but I do make a good Pot Roast! Doug and I the past couple New Years Eve, hunker in and I make this Pot Roast and have friends over. We’re kind of tired and this is the perfect comfort food to end 2016.
I’m going to post the recipe and steps and I promise you, you will make it a favorite!!
Ingredients:
3 lb Pot Roast
1 1/2 lb Baby Gold Potatoes
1 Pkg baby carrots
1 yellow onion ( you can add any vegetable you want)
1 Jar Pineapple salsa ( if you like heat, make it hot salsa but try this recipe first)
Liquid Ingredients:
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup Worcester sauce
1 jar salsa
1/4 cup brown sugar ( you can use maple syrup as well)
Montreal Steak Seasoning Salt

Coat roast Pot Roast with Montreal Steak Seasoning

Coat with Flour

Heat the pan with 1/2 vegetable oil 1/2 Real Butter..I always guess amounts..probably 1/4 cup each.

I braise the meat on all sides until it’s really crusty

Rough chop onion and brown in pan with all the good roast juice.

Mix Liquid Ingredients are simple and full proof!

I first cut the potatoes in quarters the season carrots and potatoes in a bowl first with salt and pepper. I put the vegetables in the crock pot on top of the roast then the liquid ingredients….
Set the Crock Pot to Low, if you do it in the morning, high if its noon or later then reduce..Try not to lift the lid too much.
If you want to thicken the gravy after you remove the roast add 1 tbs corns starch to 1/4 cup gravy and stir in.
Enjoy and comment me below how you liked it.
